Not understanding your post. The Burren (as you know) is a special area of limestone pavement in Ireland.

I can't Fiona. Had the details from his son "leave the house at 10am for a Burren Drive By, pulled by 2 white horses. Arrive at the crematorium at 10.45". No clue...don't think they will be going from Harlesden in London to the west of Ireland in that time.

I wonder if it’s the style of his sendoff that’s being referred to, though the deceased person isn’t Irish so I’m not certain. Hereabouts, old traditions revived during Covid, and people stood at the roadside while the cortège passed because they weren’t allowed to go to the funeral itself. At a funeral I went to in west coast Argyll pre Covid, those who could walked behind the hearse from the church to the burial ground a way off, in the old way of the Highlands. It was very moving, to walk & talk with others to his final resting place.
I wonder if you’re invited to walk behind the carriage if you’re able (watching where you step after the horses), or go straight to the crematorium if you’re not able; or watch it pass by then drive to the crem, because the funeral purvey (or whatever you’d call it) will be somewhere else.

May be something like that Fiona. It's only a couple of miles from his house to the crematorium, so the hearse will certainly go "round the houses" as it were. His wife is Irish, spoke to her ( or tried to) yesterday. You would think that she had only just arrived in London.

I think there may be a mis-spelling or something there. The "Burren" seems to be referring to the horse drawn hearse. Could it even be burial??
It isn't Irish anyway.

The funeral was today, at West London Crematorium. All went well, more people attended than the room could hold. The best bit was when everyone chanted "RODNEY" . Only old Queens Park Rangers fans will understand that one.

Talked to his daughter who advised me at our wedding " I don't think you should have children, they might turn out like OH" . She remembered it, and we took her advice. She was 7 at the time.
