Bought a light blue for the shed and arbour. Wish I had read the reviews, it's like water! OH distinctly unimpressed. Any recommendations?

We live on the seafront. Wind and salt are the killer of wood. However we have always used "Sadolin" which lasts 7 - 10 years between applications.

Brands like Cuprino lor Ronseal were lasting 3-5 years

It could be because it's meant to be more a colouring Stain that allows the natural wood texture to show through, rather than a true Paint which is intended to cover and obscure!

Sadly can't recommend an obscuring paint alternative from experience, always favoured the 'stain' look.

We used to use Sadolin on our hardwood framed windows and soffits and it is an excellent product. However I would have thought it a bit on the expensive side for general garden use?
