Too many of the invitees dont like Chinese, in particular my daughters who would only eat noodles. I had thought of Spanish but we do that often as routine as we have Spanish friends and just like the food.
The Italian night was the best night we had. The food all looked fab, loads and loads of it (because I was not short of ideas) and most could be made and prepared beforehand. And easy for a reluctant cook like myself!
So far the Greek idea appeals best for my next one. My girls are already asking when! Sounds like fun and the sort of stuff I could manage. A good deli could supply most of the meze. And I still like the idea of American if I stay away from Thanksgiving stuff. The nights are becoming more regular so i will take all the ideas on board. Thanks

Wow, wonderful ideas and will definately be used. I'm really excited about the next one. We had 14 people last time, started at 7 and we were still at the table at midnight. We had somehow got out of the way of a real dinner party except on Christmas day and we are all enjoying rediscovering it. The fun part is, once youre seated thats it, you cant get out cos there's no room for maneouvre lol!

Doggerdave what is the name of the recipe book - I love all that type of food and could be something to add to my Christmas list.
I have cooked lots of morrocon but would love to try the rest.

I use "The Book of Middle Eastern Food" by Claudia Roden. It is really good, I have had it since about 1971 and it is somewhat dog-eared, but , it is still on Amazon and there is an updated version. ------------- 👵
