My Mum has just moved, but her new hasn't actually been put in place yet, and it's going in an ex camping field.
She called to cancel her license to her old address and change to new, but they don't seem to be able to figure out how to do this when the new address isn't on their system.
So that is clearly how you get around paying, lol.

TV licence applies to computers smatphone etc if you se them to watch LIVE TV,
You do not need a licence to watch catchup & on demand services, including BBC Iplayer (but be careful on the the Iplayer, as I notice they are now streaming the live broadcast as well.
CVC players are fine, games comsoles MAY be, if you dont use them to watch live TV.
The "connected aerial" is also now obsolete, I have no aerial connected to my tv of any kind, traditional TV or a sat dish, I have cable.
The key is receiving equipment, be it TV, cable, sat, tablets etc etc...

A friend of mine cant afford to pay his tv licence at the moment, when i called to see him today, he was listening to his radio because he darnt use the tv. I said i think thats illegal too because radio belongs to BBC. Am i right ? i seem to recollect my mother saying this many years ago...
If he has the TV in the house and an aerial, he will need to pay the TV licence fee as the TV is capable of receiving signal.

The OP isn't asking for methods of payment, they just want to know if you need a licence for use of the radio that's all.
Maybe he isn't but the fact of the matter is he says his friend dare not use his tv meaning he has a tv in the house and therefore needs a licence
Apparently, you do not need a license to watch Netflix, just need to be a member. Learnt that on the Wright Stuff, this morning.
