Check fleabay, search hotels. There looks to be some good deals. Also static van hire, should be quiet this time of year, and love statics, all set and nice and cosy - reminds me of our hols as kids

Travel lodge Carnarvon we had a great weekend there took the dog £50 for the night. The location was beautiful and the walking in the area fantastic. If you book ahead you can get it even cheaper but what bumped ours up was the £20 charge for the dog.

What about a mini cruise P&oO are doing 2 for 1 from Hull at the moment, there may be other operators around the country. Could get some of your pressies or stock up on booze for the festive season at the same time.

Hoseasons have some good late offers.

how about a camping pod or a yurt with wood burner / fire. my mate went this time last year to a yurt and loved it.

Hi Mike, what about a 4 night break in beautiful Pembrokeshire? Coastal cottages.co.uk have an out of season offer starting at £99 for 4 nights. I can highly recommend them as we've used this offer several times! Cosy cottages in stunning locations ....what's not to like?

Theres a YHA in Conwy,around 20 quid a night for a room,you don't have to all go in together anymore,got a cafe too
