I believe they do. I had one once "sold" to a woman in Wales (I am in Somerset) who bid in the last seconds of the auction sight unseen. I was not happy about this preferring always to sell to viewers who knew what they were buying.

I reminded Welsh woman the car was untaxed. I reminded her she would have to insure it to get it taxed. I pointed out that she had bought it. She couldn't change her mind when she saw it.

She backed out gracefully. I agreed to cancel the deal.

The car we sold was a non runner & faults were listed ...was sold as seen .. for parts etc ....so don't think him not seeing it was an issue ...also the fact he was in eastern Europe didn't help

Well this is the 3rd car we have sold on ebay, Peugeot 306 N reg, sold 4yrs ago, Bloke still lets me know how the MOT went. bless him, sold unseen.

Then 18minths ago a P reg Volvo estate V70, again buyer kept asking for a buy it now price, he did win the auction but at a lower price than he would of bought it for, not bothered we only paid £800 for it. and got half our money back and had it for 6yrs. Sold unseen

Then my little Megane that just sold, lovely family just want it for work, the numpty that kept emailing me and only wanted to pay the starting price of £299 only made 1 bid of £299.50, twit! sold unseen

We also bought our latest Volvo V70 estate from ebay and are really pleased with it, bought unseen. as long as you have a good dialogue with them and ask all the questions, check when you view about things you can be ok.

But there are a lot of shafters out there too.
