Had a dusting overnight but it's now snowing heavy here. The Lomond Hills look pretty and white this morning. I love sitting watching it snow from the comfort of my sofa but hate having to drive in it.

The first winter we went away in the caravan, there was about a foot of snow at Bakewell where we were. If anyone knows Greenhills site, there is a long lane leading to it and no way we could get off as we were towing a small van with a Mondeo at the time. The owner had a 4x4 but he was totally p****d and couldn't help. We had to wait for his daughter to turn up with her landrover, she towed us through their garden and down to the A6. There was no snow at all once we got to the M1.

Don't panic, Heath!
Not going again 'til Jan... and even then, it will be just a couple of days notice, with one eye on the weather!
Was hoping to get a little more than a two nighter for my birthday later in the month (Jan), but my soopah-doopah-table-topping footy team have put paid to that, as they are at home on the Sat before, and the Sat after... and I need to be there, to make sure they remain table-toppers!!
So it's gotta be either of the first two weekends, or the very last one in Jan/going into Feb....Unless we camp local, and still nip back to Derby on the Sat for the match... which is not out of the equation, at this stage! :-)
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
