worst i had was a tent next door with a child who`s default setting was "scream at top of voice if things didnt go her way".

at 5am.

coupled with the type of parents who think saying "oh please harleytrixiebumbfluff, please dont make that noise" in the most soothing tones ever is going to make her stop.


after the 4th morning i very nearly lost it.

Some years ago I was sitting quietly outside my tent enjoying a beer in the late evening when I became aware that a young couple in a small dome tent only a few yards away were loudly enjoying each other's company to the full. This went on for quite some time and as the final, 'Yes, yes, oh yes!' subsided I applauded. I then heard the girl say, 'I think that was for us'.

All was quiet after that
