I wouldn't get OH in an Italian restaurant, plus there are no Bella Italia around here.
The sanitary product idea reminds me of my schooldays, the local chemist had special striped bags only used for such items. I was a very late developing and innocent early teen and used such paper to cover my music textbook. The teacher held my book up as an example of excellent covering, I had no idea why everyone was laughing...
the company i work for has just bought our local foodbank a Van and paid the costs for a year for them. a few of us also took part in a sponsored abseil from the roof of liverpool anglican cathedral, we raised a few thousand pound for them that way too.
why not pop along to you local one and ask them what they need. they will be very appreciative and then you will know exactly what they need.
dont forget, christmas is coming, people will still need feeding.
alternatively, see if there is a collection of toys for underprivileged kids in your area and donate some toys.
theres plenty of causes if thats the way you want to go.
Just had a good cupboard clear out and dropped a few impulse bits in to the Asda trolley they collect for the food bank. Have gotten much better at not buying on impulse!

A nice idea. Just check the Use By dates. Our local Food Bank chucked out a huge amount of stuff that had got out of date. They used the photo of the piles to ask for more donations, but it put me off giving more. I don't know why the recipients didn't just get given more to take away, rather than it going to waste like that.
If you buy a cheap item with a Tesco Voucher (so pay for a 50p item using £15.00 voucher), the 'change' is added to your Tesco account and you will get new vouchers worth £14.50, dated for 2 years, when they are next sent out.
This definitely works for online purchases, but I'm not sure what happens if you try this in a store.
