It appears we have lost one fence panel. However, having taken a closer look at the remains of it I'm not really surprised. It had been in there possibly close to 30 years and it was well rotten. I have replaced nearly all of them over that 30 year period that we have lived here, but I don't remember replacing that one. If I did, it was certainly a very long time ago.
News is now circulating of the damage in my part of the world, there's been a couple of partial building collapses within a mile or so of me, one shedding a gable end wall on to a busy high street, no injuries that I've heard of but one car swerved into an oncoming bus to avoid being crushed. The other was a nursing home where another gable end fell onto a parked car, crushing it's roof flat to the seats!
Quite a lot of fallen/damaged trees that I've seen in my local park (100yds from me) when walking the dog, (it's now a bit of an obstacle course to get around blocked paths!), and spotted a few neighbours fences down, friend had her kids wooden wendy house ripped up and dumped at other end of garden, and roofing felt ripped off a shed.
It was pretty rough around here, first time ever that London has had a Red weather warning for wind! - and it wasn't an idle threat! I did walk the dog very briefly in it (figured an open park was safer than garden where all sorts of debris was incoming but 'hedge hopping' and mostly out of sight until it arrived!), and the gusts were nearly taking me off my feet - and I'm quite a well 'ballasted' bloke!
Still wet 'n' windy here, when it's calmed a bit more, I'll go look at the caravan in storage yard to check it's OK. I picked my storage bay carefully to be away from overhanging trees, and as surrounded by other vans hopefully all OK.
Still wet & windy here too. On the one hand I can see our caravan out of our living room window, and can see that it is alright at the moment, But there is a big tree in the street to the right of us and I am keeping an eye on that, as if it did come down it would take out our car and caravan and possibly hit the front of the house too. Probably just as well it has no leaves on it at the moment, as if it had things could be a lot worse.
The next one arrives soon - Storm Franklin.
A few trees down in our country park after Dudley but they were largely Ash with Ash Dieback, so the trunks had smashed.
The main issue at the moment is flooding - the river is as high as I’ve seen it for many years.
We went for a local country walk with our walking group on Wednesday, and there was flowing water in a stream where I haven't seen any water in years. Not too worried about flooding at home though. There is a navigable river that is crossed by the village high street, and that is well controlled. In any case, if the water in that river ever reached our street, the roofs of the village high street houses would be well below the surface.
It's been gusty and heavy showers this afternoon, everywhere is really soggy. Dog has not been able to go to all the places she likes due to swamps.
Heartily sick of it.

The main road into town had been blocked since Friday due to a power cable being down, and it was finally re-opened earlier today.
The double decker bus had to be re-routed down a narrow street which was fun to watch when I was on it.
I could see some fences being damaged and some trees being blown down, and apart from reports of some areas without power for some hours, we got off relatively lightly in my neighbourhood.

had to do an evening around Llandudno and Colwyn bay, up the estuary and over onto the hills. just a quick 220 miles
for this part of the world, tonight was worse than Friday, really deep standing water on the M57, Expressway and M56. The runcorn bridge set the crosswind assist off on the van 4 times on one crossing.
The A55 was horrendous with gusting winds heading inland and the seafront at kimnel bay was horizontal rain.
In South Manchester
The River Mersey broke It's Banks .
Affecting Stockport ,Cheadle woods ,Didsbury and Northenden and Surrounding areas
People where Informed to get Ready to Evacuate
As The River rose to a Dangerous level
It was Imminent to Evacuate the area's most Affected .
To Alleviate the Riseing high water
The Environment Agency
Opened the Floodgates to resolve.
Hence It flooded a Local Golf course and Playing fields
Here In Cheshire Warnings went out for the River Bollin ,The Dean
and All the Smaller tributaries
Local Brooks have Turned into Rageing Rivers .
And Main A555 East West Airport Link Road
From A6 Hazel Grove .
Was closed in Parts from Bramhall ,Handforth and Styal .
All these areas are well know hot spots for flooding over the years
I think we have been very lucky around here. No flooding this far up the Lea valley and the worst damage I have seen is a branch blown off the big tree outside the house next door, there's a small tree down at the end of the road causing no damage, and a couple of fence panels have been blown down, including one of ours.
The trains were disrupted for a while but I think they are back to normal now. That was probably the same stretch of overhead wires coming down that used to happen quite regularly when I drove the trains.
We have a lot of flooding in Shropshire. We are not far from Ironbridge which is suffering again. I feel sorry for the businesses as they have had to close again.
We are on much higher ground so not at risk.
Strange light in the sky today so off with dog for a walk, as she nagging!

Floods are unlikely where I live as in quite a distance away from a canal and nowhere near a river, and long may that continue!
The only risk of flooding would be from blocked drain in the main road, and that is usually dealt with very quickly as it is at a busy roundabout going out of the town.
And I am not moving as I HATE relocation with a vengeance!

We are not that far from two rivers, but we are much higher than either of them. If the water got up this far the rivers would merge and end up about a mile wide. Plus the village high street would have completely disappeared under several feet of water.
We don't plan to move anymore either DK. I have moved 9 times in my life and we have now been here 30 years so I think we have put down roots.
I was called out at 11pm that night with the rest of the Tree gang, cutting and clearing trees, I eventually stopped at 10 am for a sausage sandwich, getting home at 7pm that night and back at work at 7-30 am the next morning this was for Bexley council we worked long days clearing trees from roofs that had come down, lot of skill involved with very little pay
