Hadn't been seeing them down south in London, but as soon as I went on hols to Derbyshire Peaks at end of July, the stripy demons were there all right!
After a week in Derbyshire, I truly ventured into the 'frozen north' (as we southern softies refer to the 'border lands' ) of the Lake District, and yes they were there too! May of had something to do with it not being terribly 'frozen', but rather toasty in mid to high 20's!
Back home in London now, and yet to see them in any numbers! Long may the blighters stay 'upt north'!
We had a bumper crop of greengages and apples on our trees this year, but still not seen wasps around in any numbers. One or two occasionally but not in any numbers yet.
As well is two words!
How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.
I think it must be us that attracts them! We were in Somerset last week and saw quite a few wasps on the couple of sunny days we had. However, with the weather turning horrible, I doubt we’ll see too many more. We are in Wiltshire this week and hoping that the forecast is wrong! It always happens to us that I sit in work looking out the window at beautiful weather all throughout August and then, as soon as I get some leave, the weather turns.
There were a few wasps during my last 2 trips back to back, however, not enough for me to bother with putting out the wasp bottles.
