The very tall building that the flame was being "abseiled" down was the tower at Grimsby docks. The flame made an overnight stay at Grimsby or Cleethorpes.

I'm with your lad! The police motorbikes were fabulous, the police runners surrounding the torch bearer have all been great & we spotted a police woman on a mountain bike who seemed to be under cover except for the word "Police" in discreet letters on her bike helmet. The sponsor vehicles and the nonentities lounging about on them just left us cold.

You forgot tennis. Graceless people making money. Since when's that been a sport? I could go into my local branch of Barclays and watch that!
It's a really bad year this year, with the Jubilee, the football, the tennis AND the bl**dy Olympics. The best thing we can do is go camping instead.
