The road can be tough and rough, but what you put in you get back 10 x more.
I have just googled the consultant for Arrowpark, he seems to be one of 10 leading consultants, who specialises in abnormal uterine bleeding, menorrhagia, fibroids ect.
I do not understand that the clinic said that Arrowpark does not deal with my condition. When they do.
But was directed to a different hospital. Am I being too finicky and except the hospital which they choose, rather than the one which I would prefer?
Arrowpark is only up the road, easy to either drive or even take a taxi to, if need be.
Liverpool Womens would be at least 2 buses. Or through the tunnel if I drive.

If the consultant specialises in that, it seems it would be ideal for you. Don't be fobbed off by office staff trying to fit you into a clinic to suit themselves.
It could be because of the location of the specialist equipment used to do the actual Ablation, not all hospitals will have this as its a very expensive piece of kit.
My nearest hospital is much smaller than the new Derby Royal super-hospital which is 12 miles away, and like you two busses to catch if you do not drive or have your own transport. In a way I was lucky though, the hospital being almost brand new ment that their equipment was the latest and best model available, and i would rather have that than something second best done closer to home.

Can I just say no matter where you go or how many buses etc you have to get. Get it done, your health is more important that where its done. We live in the catchment of the Marsden Hospital for cancer etc. Some travel the full length of the country to get treatment because its better to have treatment than be on a waiting list.
I took the maternity pads with me in case. I used them many times when caught out.I was so glad when mine was all done & over with.
Buses all the way as Bob had the only car we had. The buses although frequent was hard to get up onto no fancy lower floors then.
Thank you Sharon, you have reasurred me about the Liverpool Womens, Ken said it would try and work it out that, he will be able to take me there and back.
I feel such a relief that I am on my way to have everything sorted.

I am off for my pre-med tomorrow. haven't had a date yet, but can't wait as I am so worn out and fed up. I have cried a few times in the consulting rooms when been to see consultant. Had Myrenia in for nearly 12 months now and still no change, so here's hoping.....
An update. It had taken months back and forth to the hospital. Ken was brill taking me to my appointsments for various things.
I had my endometrial ablation Jan 17th. I wish I had it done when I first asked. I have an appointment in May. To make sure it was successful.
I had to make sure that may blood pressure controlled, one of my medication was increased. I suffer from White Coat Syndrome, which makes it difficult. At home it's ok. at the clinic or hospital. It goes right through the roof.
I still have a little discharge, but normal. My Bp, is so much better.
also feel a lot more chilled, much calmer person, like I use to be before it became uncontrollable. No longer do I have moodswings. So much more stable now. I didn't realise how much they affected me.
Ken and Son have noticed a big difference in me.
Thank you everyone for the encouragement and thoughtfullness.

I was a different person after I had mine done. I've actually just started to get periods again after 2 years, but they last a day and are barely noticeable!!
Hope it all settles down well for you.
