The VAT reduction from 20% to 5% is a different issue and applies to hotels, B&B's, campsites etc; but I very much doubt that the saving to the businesses will be passed down to the customers.
Campsite cannot charge you 20% vat then only pay the vat man 5 %, as that’s illegal

I agree but how many of us know when we pay our campsite tariff how much of that is VAT? The campsites will just charge the same as they have always charged and according to a couple of comments on these boards today, those tariffs are likely to rise in any case in order for campsites to recover lost revenue for this year. The punters won't have a clue what is right or wrong.
I’m sure the caravan clubs copy invoice has a breakdown of the charges, I can’t see them trying to duck out of it as the publicity will be to much, small independent sites maybe but not big outfits
