Many do Mart. It'll be good to compare.

Have to say, GM got us out of some delays last year in Italy. Data used over the fortnight was under 250Mb, and included in the tariff anyway.

When you consider all the electronic gizmos being fitted into cars these days it is a wonder there aren't more crashes.

Indeed. We've specific laws on phones, but that's only the half of it.

I have a load of buttons on my steering wheel.... but I daren't take my eyes off the road to fiddle with them so for me they are rather pointless.

If the designer has done their job, their shape and position ought to be intuitive but if not, worth a play with the manual so you can train yourself parked up at home.

Took a bit of practice but I can now do volume, track/station, take calls, and use Voice all from the steering wheel without taking my eyes off the road.

I totally understand the arguments about distraction and taking due care, but we are where we are.

I also have a usb connector but not sure what I am supposed to use that for...

It'll be in the ICE part of the manual but it's to connect a phone for mapping or music/audiobooks (Android Auto connects via USB cable and hands over everything to the car screen. It dims/locks the phone screen for safety reasons so it can't be used) or an iPod type thing for music etc playing through the car speakers.

If it supplies power it'll also keep the device charged.

Thanks for that info. I had a quick look today as I was driving along (don't tell the police) and I noticed one of the buttons has a picture of a phone on it so it seems that I could take hands free calls if I had a smart phone.

I have only had the car 4 years so still learning what everything does

Just keep using your old mobile phone Bob then the New Mobile Phone laws won't apply to you.

Non-smart phones - aka feature phones - can come with bluetooth, if that's what the button indicates the car has.

I am not sure my old Siemens phone comes with any teeth at all.
