We've moved around a bit too. Both originally from North London but wouldn't go back if you paid us! Moved to Clacton when we got married (1968) and hated it, so we moved back to N. London. 18 months on we moved to a mobile home (Park Home) in Waltham Abbey, (loved the home, hated the park owners) 4 years there then moved to Norfolk. Had 3 kids in our 15 years there (lived at 3 different addresses) but no work for our growing teenagers and not much for me either, so got a job on the trains in Hertfordshire and moved back. We've been here now for 26 years and love it. Nice village atmosphere, we know all our immediate neighbours, 10 minutes walk to open countryside, but we have a rail station (45 mins to London) several bus routes pass through, and we have 5 different towns all within at most 20 mins drive.
If you want to do it - do it! Plenty of time for regrets, and you will make mistakes, we all do, but we get over them. You only live once!

This is my mid-life crisis. Always had sensible family cars, always wanted a little 2-seater bit of fun!!
Same here but sadly I would never get all my camping gear in a two seater sports car

Go for it, superbbird; you only live once. We moved to Orkney nearly 20 years ago; no jobs, just took a chance, and things worked out just fine for us.
If you don't like your move, you can always move back (or on), but if you don't go, you'll always be thinking "What if?".
I think that final paragraph summed it up, coupled with Fiona's quote.
------------- " When I die I don`t want my life to flash before me in an instant, I want it to be a 3 hour epic !"
