Just the usual story, if someone can get away with charging more, they will. Around this way it seems to be creeping back up again although not by much yet. Places that were charging £141.9 are now charging £143.9 so I think it has bottomed-out and is now going back up. Nowhere I have been for many years is selling diesel for less than petrol. Most places it is still at least 5p a litre more, and in some places 10p.
Definitely on the way up again in this area. £141.9 - £143.9 - £145.9, all within the last 3 weeks. Brands averaging out at about £145.9 and supermarkets only a penny or two cheaper.
Not really been checking petrol prices but they are still always below diesel wherever I go.

Lucky you! Sainsburys nearest me is £142.9 and I think I saw petrol was £139.9 as they seem to think we are all millionaires around here. I don't think I've been anywhere that has sold diesel cheaper than petrol since the 1980s.

In France petrol was about 20 cents more expensive than diesel, petrol stations as well as supermarkets.
Local to us (Lancashire) a Texaco station has diesel and petrol at the same price, both 137.9.

When we used to holiday in mainland Europe we usually found that diesel was cheaper than petrol, which is as it should be. Only in rip-off Britain was it dearer. Diesel prices went up above those of petrol when diesel cars became popular here. Nobody bought diesel cars in the 1960s and 1970s because they were awful! They were noisy, smelly, flat out at 60mph downhill, and had the acceleration of a constipated snail, then the diesel engine got seriously developed and became as good as petrol but with better fuel consumption. That's when diesel fuel prices shot up.
