My Nana's fritters. When she came round she'd make a veritable mountain of the things. Apple, pineapple and spam. Wasn't too keen on the latter but remember vivdly, as a kid, devouring the things.
what about iced gems, I didnt know they still existed but and old school friend I met today said they are still available and he gives the blackcurrent/blackberry to the dog because he doesnt like them. I must seek some out.
Eating SugarPuffs, straight from the box. I'm 44 and still do this now and then. They just don't taste the same in a bowl.
And chocolate tools. Anyone remember those? I don't like chocolate but I could never turn those down. I don't recall the chocolate being a named brand, just that it was crispy and delicious.
Nestles chocolate bar with rice crispies in it. We used to be able to get them from a machine for 3d but they were so easy to remove once the drawer was open so you certainly got your money's worth.
Another thing that reminds me of my nan is cream sandwiches!
She always used to do a "tea" on Sunday tea times when we were staying with her and nothing was cooked, it was stuff like jam tarts, sandwiches, etc and she used to put clotted cream on bread! Maybe it's a "Devon" thing?......
I had a Nestle Crunch bar at work the other day!!!! Still a fave from my youth
I too loved Frys 5 centres, I even wrote to them asking if they'd consider making them again. They did reply, but alas, the answer was no!!! (The pineapple bit was my least favourite.....and they never broke at the point where the filling changed flavour!!)
Nutty's were also a favourite, and HoBo chews. Toffee Banana was my favourite, but I also liked Blackcurrant Liquorice.
