Hello all. New to this site and also reasonably new to this hobby of towing a mini house around behind me. I am a passionate nomad and have been travelling through work now for many years. My gainful employment is truck driving in the entertainment business which takes me all over Europe East, West, North and South. Even went across to Morocco this summer. I enjoy my work so much I thought I would try to replicate it under my own steam and expense. I bought a nice second hand Bailey Pageant a couple of weeks ago and took her out on her maiden voyage last weekend and I have to say a complete success. I am now looking forward to many years of leisure time on the open road. Look forward to virtually meeting you and maybe otherwise in the future, keep on trucking... Nomad...

Where was your maiden trip, and do you intend taking your Bailey as far afield as your job takes you? What is your job, btw? Just nosey, as you enjoy it so much.

FriendOfOwls. Thanks for your interest, my maiden outing was to 'Cottington Lakes near Deal in Kent. Great value for money as it was £14 for a pitch, 2x persons, electric and an awning... A very quiet place which would be ideal for fisherpersons also. I just wanted to go somewhere local to me so I could try out everything in the van. A resounding success I may add and I am now well and truly hooked. I am looking to to into Europe this winter probably France and Spain for a month or so but it's my ambition to go much further in the future. Maybe next year if all goes well Morocco could be on my itinary... As in my initial post I mentioned I am a truck driver in the entertainment business, actually specifically the music business touring with major British and American bands.Hence my name, all the best, Nomad...

My apologies, Nomad, I missed that in your original post. How exciting! After touring with the bands, you'll need your holiday nomading to be a heap quieter and more restful! Keep us posted on the lovely places you visit on your hols.!
I've never been to Kent, but my caravanning daughter tells me it's absolutely beautiful. A very good place to begin your travels.
