I would imagine some sort of self-catering property would be pretty cheap at that time of year, if there's any in the area - as long as you can dodge the New Year bank holiday?

Try some of the budget hotel chains, contact their corporate department, and explain that you need a long term let for a month whist on business in the area, most do some super low cost rates, especially during the winter months, a plumber friend of ours uses these regularly and they can be as cheap as 20 a night, and some rooms can sleep upto 4 people.

The other option would be to place a small add in a local paper and see what turns up, some people who work away from home may welcome a house sitter during the colder months and may offer you a deal for a small rent.

Not sure where you got the proverb, but it used to give me great pleasure sleeping under the mosquito net and listening to them banging their heads against the net. Hehehe!

Apologies for the hijack!

Some sites have their shut down for the month of February. If you check around, there may be someone not using their place in Jan who would do you a cheap rate for a month? Perhaps a bit of a long shot that there will be one conveniently situated for you to keep going to work from though!

Otherwise, a month's holiday in Spain could be on the cards!!
