Ive been looking at dog thunder vest which they claim keep you dog calm for firework nights. One of my dogs hate fireworks and is frightened at any loud noise such as fireworks, gun fire and steam trains dose anyone use one of these and do they work please?

I don't know anyone who has used them but there is a video in the link. Seems to work on 'cuddle' technology

... which is free and always worked for me in the past with my Collie.

My first dog Pepper was absolutely petrified on bonfire night (and for the couple of weeks beforehand!) I have a photograph of her taken with headphones on (the big type), it did the trick for a while. We ended up resorting to sedatives as it was awful to see how distressed she was, they did the job with no ill effects.

Never heard of these thunder vests.

We have a 4 yr black Lab who is fine with gun shots being taken to the range from a puppy but if the footballs on & my husband shouts at the tv we see a very different dog sits on my knee or hides behind my neck thunder shirt work to help calm him down so he lies on the floor at my feet still looks scared but stays calm hope this helps

My first year of not having a dog to worry about for Nov 5th

it feels horrid.

These vests work on tellington touch principals I think there's some information on them in this months dogs today magazine. I haven't tried them myself but they look interesting.

Personally we found Serene-um tablets and a DAP collar used to help. The tablets can be bought from the petshop or chemist.

Our dog is very scared of loud bangs, vacuum cleaners, strange dogs barking, anything that is over normal loudness and trembles with fear when she hears them. We bought a Thunder vest and to be honest I can't say it has made any difference to her. I will try it again but when we were at dog training class and she heard gun fire she was still a quivering wreck, even though it was some distance away. As she ages she gets more nervous.
