Think this has been the hardest 2 weeks ever, on Sunday 28th October, a friend and college gave birth to a stillborn baby girl, she was a week overdue, the baby was 8lbs 11oz. They found out on the Saturday morning that the baby had died in the womb, she had to endure 24 hrs of labour knowing her baby had died, the funeral is this wed.
My neice was taken into hospital on Thursday 2 weeks before her due date for observation, she had legs like tree trunks with fluid retention, they induced her later that day, I was beside myself with worry because of what happened to poor Suzi and baby Charlotte.
My beautiful nephew Cathal Alexander Frances Hughes was born on Friday night, mum and baby absolutely fine. The releif is immense.
My heart breaks for Suzi and Ian and bursts with joy for Claire and Dermot, its been a strange 2 weeks.
Sadness and happiness in equal measures. Your poor colleague, happened to a guy I was training in the mid nineties. They never did find out why the baby died but they had always disputed the dates and by their dates, were three weeks over.
So very sad. I hope your nephew thrives and brings much happiness.
What a rollercoaster for you, mixture of emotions I am pleased that it has worked out for
your niece. My heart goes out to your colleague.

My heart breaks for women who have to go through labour knowing they will not go home with their baby. So happy for your niece and so sad for your friend.
My heart goes out to your friend on loosing her baby girl. I had a little grandson, Liam, stillborn with a true knot of the cord back in 2006, a horrific experiance for anyone to go through, but given time, there is 'sunshine after the rain' as the saying goes, and although we will never forget Liam, he now has two younger brothers, Jack, 5, and baby Tommy, 4 months. Our daughter had great support and help from the SANDS (stillbirth and neonatal death support) group, they have a wide network of groups around the Uk as well as telephone support.
Nice to know that your new nephew and his mum are both safe and well now, my daughter is 34weeks pregnant and has a similar pre-eclempsia scare last week, but is safe for now, not nice at the time though.

My heart breaks for these women - especially as we had a close call with Alice - she sort of shot out with the cord wrapped twice around her neck. We were lucky and she is now a lively young lady who is 12 at the end of the month.
Thanks for the kind messages folk, my other neice had a wee girl, penelope, yesterday, both safe and well, my sister has become a granny twice in 3 days!
We have the funeral to endure tommorrow, and will always be there for love and support for Ian and Suzi.
