After losing our darling Cam (golden retriever), last March, aged nearly 14 and then losing our sweet Mossy (black lab), in December aged 15, we decided that we were having no more pets as it was so heartbreaking to lose them. We had previously also lost two cats, one diabetic and the other asthmatic. Every day when I got home the house felt so quiet and empty so I started looking at cat rescue centres and saw this gorgeous black and white kitten (Gizmo), who, it said was the last of his litter as he was tiny and had to be kept on special Hills food for the first year of his life. He was 16 weeks old. After telling my husband how much I missed all of our beloved pets he agreed we could have one cat. To cut a long story short.....Gizmo had a best pal called Aled.....and they both now live with us! We collected them on the 27th January and we haven't stopped laughing since! Gizmo is a little nutter who races around everywhere, making various cat noises and Aled (who is 16 months old) is very sweet and and much calmer. They play fight a lot of the time and are so funny. Gizmo is tapping my hand as I am writing this! It has brought back a lot of happy memories of our other two cats, Louis and Felix. Although we miss our dogs terribly, these two little kitties have brought a lot of happiness back into our lives. They both had a bad start in life but now they are loved and cherished.
Well done you for taking on two little rescues, it sounds like they are giving you as much happiness as you're giving them. You'll never forget your dogs or your previous cats, and nor would you want to, but these two new family members will help to fill the emptiness in your life and your home and will hold their own place in your heart. Looking forward to seeing some pics now

After bella died we said no more pets. but the the house was so empty. contacted local rescue centre and after home visit (we cleaned house top to bottom even jet washed the drive lol !!) we went just to look at the kittens at our local cat protection and within minutes my 14 yr old son had a noisy tiny ball of fur in his jacket. mabel was ours. last may we decided to get a companion for mabel and so willow joined the family also from cat protection. now have two lovely cats who we adore. wishing you lots of luck with your new additions xx
Thanks everyone for your kind comments. I do have lots of pics on my camera and my phone but haven' a clue how to put them on here! Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Over the years we have been along to a rescue centre three times, looking for 1 cat and coming home with 2! And the last time we went to 'just look' at a litter of kittens as we were not sure if we really wanted another, but of course once we saw them, we were smitten! I love cats
