To all those Sunncamp tent owners out there....BEWARE....customer service is not high on the company agenda!
Suffered a major failure in waterproofing with my tent - even bought and applied Fabsil to pro-actively protect/prolong the life of my 5 year old Vario6+ only to find the exact opposite when water literally poured in for the duration of my holiday. Final straw was torn guy straps resulting in a flattened tent!
Sunncamp's response - not our problem and then silence/blanking of all communications...rude and ignorant beyond beleif!
A once loyal [owned 3 of their tents over the years] customer that will never buy or promote their products again!
We waited forever for a replacement pole for our Sunncamp frame tent - even the shop that I was getting it through said that they can be hit and miss at times.
The thing is with synthetic tents is that over time the material starts to break down and with it the waterproofness.Totally different to cotton canvas which if looked after can last 30 years or more.
As already said,5 years wear from an initial outlay is very good.

I wouldn't actually consider it poor customer service from Sunncamp at all really but more the fact of the customer expecting support from them for a product that was manufactured 5 years ago. Basically that's 5 times the guarantee period so it's little wonder they were blanking all communication.

I agree.
How hard it could it be to explain the life of synthetic material. It took one member 2 ticks to do it in this thread.

Shame on you Sunncamp !
That's a fair point. I also wouldn't be too disappointed if a £200 synthetic tent bit the dust after 5 years of use, but it wouldn't have hurt Sunncamp to respond and explain about tent UV degradation etc. rather than just ignore their previously loyal customer.
It would depend on how the OP approached sunncamp. He/she sounds really pi##ed off and if he/she was aggressive towards sunncamp, then maybe they were right to ignore communications.
On the other hand sunncamp could’ve explained about the life expectancy of the tent. But then should they need to? The tent would’ve been guaranteed for 12 months, so why would the OP think they had right to claim after the 12 month period?
Reading one of the posts, the tent leaked in the first 12 months. Assuming I have this point correct, one can assume that this issue was dealt with properly at the time, "under guarantee". If sunncamp did this then good on them.
I have had sunncamp tents and found them to be good for the price, never had any problems and would definitely recommend them to anyone
Sorry to the OP, but on this occasion, given what you say in the original post, you are in the wrong.
This is only my opinion, and is not intended to offend. Obviously there maybe more to the story, but with what we have here, that’s my opinion.
