Sounds daft...But if your fortunate enough to land on a biddable confident well adjusted dog who has never given you or anyone else a problem it can enhance your(and your families) life..

There is a fella who comes up to Glencoe with his old Lab called Spook....Brilliant dog...never a bit of bother round the fire etc....I see the same relationship between them as I had with Meg....Pals from day one...Do anything for each other sort of thing....

See it too with a workmate and his wee Sprocker bitch...Love each other to bits....I'd have her in a heartbeat if he was giving her up....But that's a lifetime thing so no chance....

Jelboy.

Animals do bring a lot of joy to a family, their part of it but,the hard part is when you have to let them go through illness or old age and thats the hard part..

We had Harvey for nigh on 16 years (avatar pic). He crossed the bridge in November 2010 & not a day has passed that we don't think or speak about him.
I never thought that the hole in my heart would mend but just over a year ago a new soul came to share our house. Emmet, a JRT, now almost 8. He will never replace Harvey & I wouldn't expect him to, but he is his own man & he is filling that hole in my heart. Bless you, Emmet.

I have my first cat George's ashes on the window sill upstairs where he liked to sit, and my two lovely late doggies, Pepper and Sam are on the sideboard in the living room. I have also had the most beautiful pastel portraits of both the dogs done by Sally Logue, an incredibly talented lady (Google her if you want a pet portrait), Pepper's had pride of place on the chimney breast, but just waiting to get Sam's framed and it will go up beside her on a wall big enough for the two of them. As I sit and think about those three very special pets, another very special one, Bailey is asleep at my feet. They all have their own individual place in my heart and I really feel sorry for anyone who hasn't experienced the true, unconditional love of a pet, there is nothing on earth finer.

I have used Sally Logue too, Tracey. The picture of Harvey in my avatar is the one she did for us. I recommend her highly, she really captured the 'real' Harvey
