Hi! Someone has asked me if I know anything about sewing machines which will stitch two parallel seams at the same time, but independently, not looped together at the back. Would this require two bobbins?

I have no idea but thought I'd ask. Thanks!

I should imagine it would be a specialist machine, as it would require to independant bobbins. I can use mine as a twin needle machine, which gives two top threads, but as it only has one bobbin in the bottom half, I should imagine that they are looped together - long time since I used a twin needle.

my mam has one of these machines at home it is not industrial but it does require the use of 2 bobbins and 2 reels of cotton - but it was expensive - but as she does alot of home sewing for her it was worth it

I was going to say use a double needle but the only option is to machine it twice in different lines.

If you friend has a noramls domsetic machine tell her to look at a guide for it Mine has a spindle like atachment with an arm.You have to be carefull but it is possible.

It's called the quilting guide attachment and it's for...yes, quilting, where you may want to stitch several parallel lines or curves.
