hi ll..does anyone have one of theres ..are they any good..if your computers in dining room and tvs in front room doe you have to run cables everywere and can they be scambled so there useless..cheers..stewey
i don't know much about them...but have been looking at a few recently.
don't they all run on your home wifi, and there are varying degrees of compatibility with other devices on your LAN.
it plugs into your TV and draws what it requires from the internet over your wifi. I know some of them include all sorts of apps to get video from a variety of sources...basically makes a TV a smart TV.
i want one purely to run video from my NAS drive...just haven't got around to finding the best way to do it yet.
I only know a little about these ,they are basically an android tablet without a screen, they have wifi, some are overlayed with a propierty software so you can only access what they want you to access like sky or the i think something like rokio ,ie some of them have not got itv player, and some might not access some thing else.
So I would look for a box with android 4+ dual or quad core processor and a standard version of android and you can access the web play videos use iplayers etc.the biggest weakness is the wifi strength on some of the chinese ones ,so check reviews carefully.
or if you already have a tablet it will connect to your tv and if it half decent it will do everything that an android TV box will do just buy some cheap connecting cables .thats all i know ,i expect there will be some others along with more knowledge
