5:38 this morning a crack of thunder and then torrential rain for some 30 minutes and cleared ,, distant thunder and some lightening on and off all afternoon and this evening,again accompanied by a heavy downpour result is i have now a previously empty water butt full ,210 litres thank you all in one day, just off the shed roof!!

Had amazing light show for what seemed like most of the night. No.2 son was going around the house trying to film it. Just after daylight it was horrendous.

I was very worried about our Jack russell because bonfire night causes him so much stress his colitis plays up and it sometimes ends up in a vets visit. He spent most of the night lying on his back on his bed so relaxed.

We drove 500 miles down the country yesterday expecting to have to drive through lots of lightning, according to the forecast, but didn't see any at all.
