Does anyone think there is any value in using the A395/A39 as an alternative route instead of queing at the usual bottlenecks on the A30 rejoining at Indian Queens. I am towing a twin axle caravan

Hi Gaffer

I live close to Indian Queens and would not use the A39. It is a horrible windy road, very narrow in places. When I travel to Exmoor I always go the A30, M5 and turn off at Tiverton. It takes me less time than the A39 and is a lot less stressful and I don't tow a caravan!!!

Just my opinion, I am sure others will be here soon to say the opposite!!

Not sure when you last came down here but there is a bypass now near Indian Queens, we even have our very own service station now at Roche/Victoria!, just opened this last week. The only bottle neck really is the small bit across Bodmin Moor, the rest is all dual carriageway until Zelah near Truro where the A39 would be of no use to you anyway!

Enjoy your time down here however you get to us!!

Thanks Sue you have confirmed my suspicions the suggestion came from a friend who does not tow.

And Cornish views take you breath away.
