It was probably due to her wearing a Chelsea shirt. I do know of a Chinese student who wondered why she was getting aggressive comments when she visited Manchester wearing an Arsenal shirt.

OMG!! It's beautiful, awesome, spectacular, amazing, stunning, fabulous, literally run out of superlatives to describe Scotland.
We are currently visiting Scotland, and me and the OH have fallen in love with the place (it was my first time )
Everyone has been so friendly, and there are so many nationalities visiting as well.
We left the caravan at home this time, as we've only come for a taster for five days and needed to cover as much ground as possible. And boy have we!! By the time we get home tomorrow we'll have covered about 1200 miles.
We'll definitely be returning
Best wishes Sam

Scotland may be a small country, but if I live to be 1,000 years old, fortunately I will never see all there is to see.
So far this year we have had a week at Blair Drummond, near Stirling.
10 Days at Arisaig. A Week on the Mull of Kintyre. Next week we are off to Errol, near Perth for a week and after that we are hoping for a week at Oban and another week near Girvan.

Our old caravan is doing us proud this year!

I know its the same all over the UK...

But one of the things I like about Scotland is all the wee hidden gems of places to visit tucked away in all airts and pairts of this country.....

And this pastime we all share (Camping) Allows me to visit and see a lot more of them than the vast majority of the general public ever do...For that I am extremely grateful and hope to continue doing so for many a year yet.....

I'm a lucky person to have all this virtually on my doorstep......(Gush Gush)......

Jelboy.

Agree with that Jelboy.. and as you say there are lots of places in the UK with similar.
The Lake District and Yorkshire spring to mind, all wide open spaces for those that enjoy the great outdoors.

I suppose we all feel that bit extra for our home turf as its more familiar to us..

Got back today after great 5 day stay. Managed to get rid of my last Scottish tenner, only to be given a funny coloured fiver as changed.Amazed that I had a tenner left after being mugged by the shopkeeper in Craignure.

Lake District is a bit like The Trossachs - but with far more people. What I like about being here is there's so much variety in easy distance, and all our MH trips are chosen on the spur of the moment, never planned far ahead. High class annual exhibitions - Kirkcudbright. Needing sunsets - Machrihanish. Want to see snow - Aviemore. Snowdrops - Garlieston, or Culzean, or Fife (for Cambo). Tropical gardens for Camellias - head to Logan by Portpatrick. Pointy mountains - has to be Skye.  Individually shaped mountains - Assynt, nowhere like it. Silver sand beaches - ah, don't start me! Lochs - oh, which one to choose. Dark sky - not just the Dark Sky Park in Galloway, the west coast of Arran is stunning at night (or any of the islands - saw that big comet on Islay in a black sky, awesome). Pretty fishing villages - east Neuk of Fife and east of Nairn (Cullen etc). Stone  circles - has to be Kilmartin Glen near Lochgilphead, though Callanish is on the list. Birds - is it Osprey time? let's go to Dunkeld (closer than Aviemore, better looking nest site too.) Castles - Stirling's my favourite (with Witches Craig a favourite site nearby), and not far from previously-mentioned Kelpies and Falkirk Wheel. But Eilean Donan's no' bad... I'll need a fix of pipe bands at some point (Cowal Games, Edinburgh Tattoo). Wet weather? just move on - we look for the hole in the sky with the sun coming through, and see where that takes us (Beauly it was, last time the weather closed in). And East Ayrshire has its charms, doesn't it weegmack - Dumfries House, for example.... (Though I can't think of a good campsite site nearby.)

The nearest site to Dumfries House that we have used is Kilkerran. I'm sure there are others closer, but Kilkerran, inside a walled garden, is just beautiful.
Hope to get a week there before the end of the season.

We've tried the Lake District and away from the tourist bits, it's beautiful, but the next time we go there it will be out of season so that we can enjoy the better known bits with less crowds.
