So Mick S if my dog wandered onto your garden and did its business without me picking it up you would be happy would you? I carry plastic bags wherever I go to clean up after my dogs. Cat owners just let them out and forget about it.
A mentioned earlier we still got mice so the damn thing didn't even prevent that!
Why should I accept the irresponsible behaviour of cat owners who let their moggies out to come to my garden, dig up flower beds to do thier business and then leave perhaps killing the odd bird along the way?
I'm sorry but I do not appreciate other people's cats.
You have to accept that cats roam - end of. Its not a case of 'forgetting about it', but theres no way of stopping it. Other than keeping all cats in - which is against their nature.
And while its commendable you pick up after your dog, there are plenty who dont. And i know where id sooner find a pile of muck when push came to shove, and it isnt on the kiddies shoes.
There will be cat muck in your garden you never ever find, but dog muck on the path/in the grass is guaranteed to find someone.
Quite right David, although I don't hurl missiles, there's always the hose and the water pistol at the read! Cats are not welcome in my garden, either.
Most of the neighbourhood cats are well aware how they'll be treated and either avoid or belt through it. Not so the cat belonging to one of my neighbours. Two people have had to take their bird feeders down because of the number of birds it takes and it just doesn't pay any attention to shoos and hisses. It does however respond to water and owners have complained because I use a water pistol on it. Tough. I don't hurt it, I just don't want it near the birds nor do I want its sh!t or my veggies dug up. I have to cope with truly wild animals munching on them such as the stag, but if someone's pet costs me money then it's time they took responsibility.
------------- " When I die I don`t want my life to flash before me in an instant, I want it to be a 3 hour epic !"
If cats killed to eat I wouldn't have a problem with it as its just nature. Cats don't kill to eat, first they torment the unfortunate creature and then when they get bored they eventually kill it and usually don't eat it.
If a child were digging in my garden (as kids are prone to do) I also don't imagine the moggy's buried excrement would be a healthy thing for the kid to find. Its not only dog poo thats bad for kids! Some people do have children or grand children who may dig in their gardens.
I take the view that since I have warned my neighbours what will happen if I see their cat on my garden that they obviously accept the risk - perhaps they hope I'll miss every time! I was a dead eye with a cricket ball in my younger days so its potentially bad news for the poose.
I don't have a high pressure water canon available so the water option is a non starter!

As you may of guessed im not a yes person,I say what i think and not what people want to hear.If that offends, dont read it.\simple as that,
What makes you think birds are virmin, they were here before us,they dont have wars and dont make housing estates doss holes. In my view its humans who are virmin and causing wiered desieses by playing with nature,we should leave well alone. And as for global warming, its our cars, not all the fireworks and wars and bombs etc.The government are fullof s**t and blame it on us.
Great post GP one of your best.........................not
How do you know if it offends you unless you read it. Doh!

As well is two words!
How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.
