Posting this here because I primarily want to measure the moisture content in firewood but it may also be useful for checking the van.
Any recommendations ... been looking at this

i got the stihl one pictured,the orange one.Very good quality and price,and just incase you didnt know,they make a whole range of quality tools (industrial) so i would stick with that.The maplin one will last about 6 months and screen will give up,not sure about the b&q one

Stihl is very good name in tools. their saws are excellent.
So I presume their damp meters are also of excellent quality.

Thanks all, my reason for looking at the Stihl ws as the above comments.... however on closer research it seems to have very expensive batteries and poor battery life but does seem very durable.

I work for a joinery company and wood moisture content is very important for us to monitor. We use TESTO meters which are a bit more expensive than those above. One thing you need to look for if you are "going to rely" on such meters is that they have a way of being calibrated. Leave a very cheap meter in a "damp" environment for a while and will will register that level of dampness as the norm.

I have a silverline one and the readings are quite accurate when I compared then to the protimeter used by the service engineer. I take the 9v battery out when its not being used.

Given the Stihl a miss and went for Brennenstuhl instead, about the same money with decent reviews and also one mentioned by our wood supplier and service engineer for the van.
Not got it yet, it's in the post. Instructions do say to keep it in a 'dry' place.
