When we go away I try and record some programmes on the Humax box to watch when we get back. Sometimes when I use the programme schedule on the Humax box it says a programme cannot be found. This is always ITV. So today it cannot find Downton Abbey on Christmas day. Yesterday it would not find Skyfall but it did today.

All the BBC programmes are available to record it is just ITV.

Any ideas why some programmes cannot be found.
I prefer to tape them as it can be months before we get round to watching them so do not like iplayers.

Ive just brought a Humax freesat box. So I will have a look for you. You will have to wait thou DW is watching bl**dy Eastenders and Corrie so I am not allowed near the remote at the moment. Don't forget it will be on itv player from the next day. Geoff


Edit. Probably not Skyfall on itv player though.

Yep, mine is working. Pressed the search button and typed in Downton and there it was. But if yours is the freeveiw & not the Freesat like ours its probably poor freeveiw reception, we have that problem with our BT box which is freeveiw due probably to our crap roof aeriel. But we also have a sat dish so we got the freesat box to give us both options. Geoff

We have both Humax Freesat and Freeview PVR box's and they are brilliant.

Having said that when we first moved here back in 2013 our TV aerial was pointing to the Local Transmitter, so we only got around 12 Freeview TV channels.

We paid a local aerial installer to point our aerial at the Winterhill transmitter, and add a MastHead Amp to the Aerial so £50 well spent and we now get over 100 Freeview TV channels.

The Freesat we have is just for extra recording capacity, as we mostly use the Freeview.

We can get all the freeview channels and reception here is excellent.

We just can't find SOME ITV programmes when we search for them using the guide via the Humax. Skyfall was not listed until yesterday so have set it to record. But Downton is still not appearing on the guide list yet it is on Christmas day on ITV. All the other ITV programmes appear on list.

Very puzzled.

We have a Humax, and we have to let it warm up (so to speak). Can't just turn it on and expect to find the full guide there. It takes time to find all the programs. On the rare occasion when a program isn't there, I set up the taping the long way (setting the channel and the on / off times).

In the last few weeks there has been a software update and some of the channels were moved on mine .So check for software update and retune you got nothing to lose TJ

All you need to do is re-tune your box and that should cure the problem.
The fact that you can receive the other programs and not the ITV based ones tell me its out of tune.
Easy to do.

Its not necessarily the box thats out of tune. PVRs record (especially those doing series link and also finding alternative showings) by detecting digital signals broadcast at the start of programmes. Its not unusual for the broadcaster to mess up the transmission.

If necessary you can set the timer manually instead of using the programme guide.
