Can any electricians help. My husband is looking in to doing I wiring course. I've looked online to see if they do mock exams , just to practise before making a commitment . local college does a night course but it's not 17 th. Thank you for any replies.
As far as I'm aware the proper course is 3 years with the third year completed on the job.
There are other courses which will give you a bit of paper and tell you are an electrician but not much cop if you walk on a building site. The best thing to do is decide where he wants to work after getting a qualification then ring around various electrician jobs that are advertised and see what they want.
If he did a short course and worked for himself he could in theory trade but would lack a lot of knowledge a 3 year course person would have.
I have a mate who has done the short course and 2 others who have the 3 year C&G and I know who I trust working on my house.
