Hi, Everyone
Was thinking of getting one of these, as it can be put up by one person, so simple, no reviews as yet.

QUEST ELITE SCREEN HOUSE POP UP GAZEBO, they have a 4 sided and a six sided.

Anyone give me your thoughts on this before I get a awning, as I do camp on my own

Some campsites ban gazebos for safety reasons, ie they will become airborne in a gale & cause damage. If a popup gazebo does get damaged by wind it won't pop up any more. I'd save your money & get an awning for the front of your tent.

I agree with Billy. We have a pop up tent which is more secure and I pop it up in 5 mins and down in 10 but have to get on hands and knees to fold it but it is not hard just a knack.

greycamper if you are on your own then consider getting an air awning, not that you wouldn't get any help offered but its nice to be self reliant

You dont realy want to know just how much damage one of these pop up gazebos can do i have seen one of these tumble down the whole length of a camp site
I am not suggesting not to use one but if you do please make sure it is well anchored down

We made a point of anchoring my brothers down when they didn't and the wind got up, not long after a gust of wind just twisted and buckled it - straight to the bin! But at least it didn't do any damage to ours or anyone else's tent.

Used one, nearly took off in the wind, never again.

The guying points on all the ones I helped to put up for events were very flimsy, the guys were thin, and the pegs bent easily.

I learnt to rig a tarp instead and never looked back.

Leading on from this. I run a stall selling doggy handshake charity, which we take round local shows. We did have a gazebo given which we used last year to provide some protection from the weather and to provide our dogs with shade when they weren't competing, but find it awkward to put up. We were going to replace it this year with a pop up gazebo with sides. As I run this for charity I can't afford an industrial type gazebo. Do you think a normal pop up gazebo would be suitable or can you suggest any affordable alternatives

Yes, I've seen popup gazebos used at carboot sale stalls & so on, they are about £50odd. It would do job provided there is not much wind.
