I'm still thinking about this .... and have been wondering about installation. Has anyone who has upgraded to fibre broadband lived in an old house with the original off white GPO Box where the cable enters the house - did you have to pay extra to have this replaced with something more modern?

No BT OR will replace the GPO box with a twin socket box, one for the phone and one for the BB at no extra charge.

If you go with BT they will replace it for free.We have an old house and had all that old stuff.it makes a big difference when you get it replaced. We were with aol and have gone to BT and its much faster now.

Surely whoever you use as an ISP it will be BT Openreach who will do the installation?

The fibre connection will go to the green box in the street, from there it will or should go to your house through your original copper wires.
If anything needs modifying the openreach engineer will sort it.
