We've been told that you're not breaking any laws as you're 'streaming' and NOT downloading........

I wouldn't be so sure. In any event, some services only offer streaming, with no download option. Whichever, if you somehow access that content dubiously the result is the same.

Whilst the content itself isn't being stolen (as it's a copy being accessed) there's an argument to say the content owner is being deprived of the proceeds of sale of that copy - whether the offer is for a stream, or a download.

In my world, you're either comfortable with that, or you're not.

Personally, I'm not. So I don't do it. I think content creators and re-sellers are entitled to a reasonable return for their efforts. It's not as if legal services aren't readily available.

Mike, Netflix is one of the Apps in the set-up and you can easily log into it.

'Tother night we were all going out to a family gathering and wanted the post code for the sat nag. No problem, no setting up the computer, just changed channels on the TV and googled it! I've found it very handy for some things, but still struggling mentally!

Some TV channels I was paying for on Virgin have been removed by them, so I don't feel guilty about watching them on the PC. They seem to know what you watch on your tele then knock your favourites off to get you to pay more for their services.

Cheers Bridgelayer. I'm guessing then it can be like any of the Fire, Roku, or other streamer boxes, just that it's effectively really a computer so can browse and hand pages over too.

I can see that would be a plus and of course there wouldn't be the push to their own services as you get with Amazon and Apple. I don't mind paying a reasonable price, but I hate being pushed one way.

Amazon have not only removed support for their Prime app from our TV, the discs-by-post I used to pay 2pm for they're increasing to 7.99 pm. We hardly used Prime anyway, preferring Netflix and Now TV. I'll cancel it when it comes up for renewal.

Good to have choice

I really annoyed the missis today! I started - and kept on - flicking over to keep an eye on the test score. With a bit of luck she'll buy me a 42" TV for Xmas so I can use it upstairs!
