Hi there, we have had a slate near the bottom edge of the roof which has been wonky for a while. OH has been meaning to fix it but unfortunately in the high winds last night it has fallen off and broken. OH is naturally kicking himself. Does anyone know where we can buy a single roof slate? Places like Jewsons have them but they seem to be in large packs not singles. I can only think to try roofing companies on Monday but OH can do the repair himself so they might not be keen to help. Thanks for any advice

Lots of the smaller builders yards sell old tiles and slates , or try the reclamation yards .

Or walk into Jewsons and ask for 'sample' tile to just make sure its the same size and colour to the originals, most biulders yards will either give you a freeebie or sell you one for a couple of quid, it makes good business sense, especially if they think theres a possibility that you will return later to buy more or recomend them to others.

Make sure you measure size required as there are various sizes and take a piece of the broken one to get same type of slate if possible. There are lots of different types of slate.
