Try giving him some drops od Bach Rescue Remedy. My friend a dog owner of many years has in the past used children's travel sickness tablets.

sounds like he might be coming round already. Is probably anxiety as everyone says. You're doing all the right things. You could try putting him in the front seats with you if its a bench seat, with a harness to the seatbelt - or his bed between the front seats. He might be happier closer to you. Maybe his bad experience was in the back of a van in a cage with vet bed. We got another wee lab x rescue last summer and she does anxiety wetting. Someone has been seriously cruel and vicious to her. She is coming round slowly and its happening less and less now but we still have to be careful not to raise our voices, lift brushes or mops near her or raise our arms up when she's beside us, she just hits the floor and wee's. They do come round over time with love and security but some things they never forget. If he enjoys all his excursions in the van he'll be a happy traveller in time

Thank you very much for your reassurances. It's nice to know we're doing the right thing.

He was sick in the car too so as they're quite different travelling experiences we thought we'd try the camper van because that's the one he has to get used to.

You're spot on with the vet bed. He hates it and doormats if they vaguely resemble vet bed. We have a bench seat which turns round to become a seat. He could have slept on it when we were camping but chose the floor instead. I think it unnerved him when my daughter lifted the seat off to get her bag out. He slept very well on the floor in his special mat.

Thank you all. I'll let you know how we get on.
