Thanks Duffs, things are certainly a lot more positive now :)

I think camping may have to wait until Spring, plus i have no way to tow the camping trailer now i gave my Ex Wife the land rover with the tow bar. It will therefore be new car time or i have to look at a tow bar for my car.

I too have just stumbles across this. I hope your wounds are healing and some faith is restored in humanity. I wish you all the best.

Hey everyone thanks for the messages, things have improved some what. She still seems pretty much incapable of providing a happy environment for the children and to be honest I am worried about what the future holds for them being with her as she only seems able to just about look after them while staying with her parents, being on her own with them scares me. She finally managed to get a job after months without one, only to be fired after 1 week. So i receive regular calls asking for money (in addition to the maintenance i already pay) which i politely decline and ensure anything for the kids is paid for directly.

I am putting plans in place to be able to have them full time and have a feeling she may agree to this without me having to go down any legal routes, sad but for the best i feel.

I am still seeing the wonderful lady I met in November and things are going great, we have a number of weeks camping planned over the summer, both with the kids and on our own (which will be very nice) It is proving hard however as the impact my Ex has on the kids ripples through to our relationship which is difficult for us both but hopefully we can continue to move forward and enjoy being together.

As Gram pointed out I have a teardrop trailer planned, most likely will start in the winter now but that will be a great project to get working on :)

Good to hear that things are progressing, Dan, even if some aspects are causing concern. I hope at some point you can make a complete break with your ex and consign the relationship to 'the past' so that it doesn't (as you so eloquently say) ripple through to your new relationship. The teardrop trailer sound like a great project, something positive to look forward to. I'm sure the kids, and your girlfriend, will love it. I hope you post some photos when you start to build it. Best wishes !
