Was thinking of getting a new Dash Cam as the old cheap Chinese one from eBay has died and using the Halfords fitting service, has anyone used this and is it any good? TIA

had one fitted this sunday. bought online along with the fitting voucher and micro sd (the halford 32gb price is quite good at £15) then called the local branch to arrange fitting sunday 10.30am. turned up a bit early left the keys with them and returned an hour later all done. Fitting is neat - can't see any wire other than coming down from the centre top of the headlining to the unit. Unit piggybacked onto the fuse for the cigarette lighter so it comes on/off with the engine. The installer loaded in the sd card and formatted it and went thru the basics. All in all a tidy and effective job and i would recommend them.

My daughter had her Nextbase 312gw dashcam fitted by Halfords, they did a fab job, very neat and hard-wired into the fusebox.

as did I I bought the next base 412 with a 15% discount from Halfords & they charge £30 for the hardwiring kit & fitting very well done & they also ran in my satnav hard wired at the same time

We had a Nextbase camera fitted into the vehicle by Halfords and it was a neat job at a reasonable price.

Bought a nextbase 612 from Halfords Blackpool, £312.00 including fitting, after 2 pre-booked 1 hour appointments and them trying both fuse boxes they told me they can't hard wire this into a ford Kuga because the kuga was permanent live, they don't understand the electrics, and couldnt find an ignition live fuse, so got a refund, went straight to Halfords in Preston bought the same dasc cam unit and got it fitted straight away and for 11 pounds cheaper, I would double check if I were you that they can actually do what they advertise

first class service from Halfords in Oldham,very pleased with the dash cam and the service. I did not know the service areas for mot and servicing is separate from the shop

I also got a nextbase dash cam hard wired by Halfords at one of their service centres.
They phoned me just after an hour to collect the car. Good neat and tidy job done.

I think you will find that it is not permanently live but remains live for ten minutes after the ignition is turned off, similar to my C Max.

Evans Halshaw have since told me the same, but they said 20 mins. Hafords at Rivers way Preston were magnificent, I couldn't have asked for a better service and experience. , I would give them a definitive 10/10, I only wish that Halfords in Blackpool were as knowledgeable and professional, surely they should have known that. Anyway it is working perfectly, I am very pleased.
