They called at my door last night wanting to quote for a new conservatory. He didn't have a business card, just a printed bit of paper with their logo and contact number. Couldn't find much on Companies House website.
Did the contact number appear on that website? Anyone could print a bit of paper and even with the right details could still be dodgy. Did any of your neighbours have a similar call?
Not sure, but they were on the phone as soon as this bloke left and wanted to come over tonight to view and give a quote. If anyone comes knocking I'll escort them to the top of the drive.
Said they were part of a Government window/PvC scrappage scheme
There is no such government scrappage scheme .. that is a common scam used by a lot of conmen.
Looks a decent website but says been established 27 year .. no company number on site .. no details on company house.
If you enter the address details on the website into Company House the only company registered there is one called Calminster Ltd which is registered as a painting company
I might ask them to rearrange two large sheets of paper later with the words OFF and at £$K this evening. I know we've all got to make a living but really...
Worrying this was, I was in the dining room, she answered the door and started to give her mobile number out, agreeing to a visit so I went out and she said, he doesn't trust anyone.....I stared at him, with that Action Man Eagle eyed look.......in my cycling shorts and vet..... probably thought I'd been auditioning for a YMCA advert :-)
