I recently had to change my front brake pads in my car.
I phoned the place where I usually get my bits from and they wanted £35 but never had any in stock.
I checked on a website of another shop, they had them in stock and wanted £33.
Thought I would just check Ebay before I set off and used the part number I found on the shop website.
The exact same brake pads on Ebay were,,,,,,, £12.50 with free delivery,,,,,,,,,,,,,,from the SAME shop that wanted £33.
Maybe it's just me, but I don't understand why such a huge price difference.

yeah we had exactly the same thing happen but with a different part for our yaris, on ebay it was £69 as it was a local shop hubby went along and got told that it was £85! cash! hubby also noted that there was only this one guy at work on the Saturday morning and only a hand written receipt given so we know what happened there don't we? £69 rand in the til after hubby left and rest of cash in the pocket!
When I was cogitating on buying my first satnav, I saw one on display at Currys but the price was a bit high. Went on Currys website and saw the same model at £30 cheaper. Ordered and paid for it, and got a print out authorising me to collect it after one hour.
Same store, same counter, and item taken from same locked cabinet where I saw it on display. Crazy, innit?

When we bought our fridge freezer we looked in what was then Comet as they were the cheapest by a mile then went home and checked their website and loo and behold saved nearly £150.00 by ordering it on the web.
I recently bought a single bed frame online. The first website I went to showed it as £89 but said they would price match. I searched around for an identical bed and found it on another company's website for £79. The original website looked a bit more professional so I went back to them and asked them to price match with the second company which they did straight away, so I bought it.
When it arrived, together with the invoice, it had the other company's name on it...they were the same company using two different names. I guess if people don't look for a price match they are charged £89 and if they go directly to the other website they get charged £79 for exactly the same product.
