I queried with my insurer to get DD added on so she can use the car over christmas.
obviousy being 21 quote price was quite high.
Temporary insurers sounded like the cheaper option.
However I noticed on the 'my account' page online there was the option to change my policy to 'any driver over 21' for the change policy quote of £36.
In the policy booklet it states they need anyone driving under 35's details which is contradicting the web page so I called my insurer back and yes it's some kind of mistake on the price and they don't offer that cover on a policy.
but they said they would look into doing it for me and will contact me.
wonder what the price will be?
I think allowing my daughter when she was only 21 to use my car over the Christmas period would have been a step too far for me...let alone an insurance company
But Bob, if you don't let them drive your car how can they taxi you around?
On a more serious note, I think the extreme prices insurance companies are charging for young drivers nowadays is ridiculous. I would be interested to see if the statistics really back up their quotes.
