Always use my phone, have done for quite some time. I would rather lose my phone, with PIN, fingerprint or facial recognition, than lose a wallet with three or four cards……..Not that I want to lose either!
I prefer to use my phone as I feel its more secure than a card, since it can only be activated with my fingerprint. In fact, I rarely carry a card now unless I know I am going to spend over £100 (fuel sometimes!). Actually, I don't carry a handbag much any more unless I am out for a long period.

If I switch my phone on, it can make and receive phone calls (and the occasional) text - nothing else. I pay either by card or cash. Quite a few small traders are 'cash only'.

Likewise, mine is just a phone too so I pay by card. Increasingly I'm finding that especially after Covid many places are going "card only" these days. The Heritage Railway I volunteer on went card only when they re-opened after Covid and decided to stick with it as it meant that there was never any cash on the premises to get stolen. I'm not sure whether that means you can pay there by phone though as I'm not up with that technology.
I feel like a bit of a dinosaur as I have a smartphone but only use it for calls and texts, not apps or anything else! Nor have I embraced online banking, as my affairs are very simple, and I use debit card or cash for transactions. I'm surviving okay so far!

I was in my, very rural Devon local pub, with a few of the locals. I paid for a round with my phone, one of the group said “I would never do that, not safe”
So I said OK, hand my phone around the group, many of them already use their phone, and see if you can use it to pay for the next round, if you do, it’s on me again. BUT, those that try and fail, which they will, are to give me their wallets or cards for me to try the same……..No takers. 👍

There is not a £100 limit when using your phone, just paid a £237 food bill with mine. 👍
I use my debit card. I have a rucksack which I carry around, my purse with all my cards lives in there. I do use apps, your bank app is very useful for a quick check. Use FB and WhatsApp.

Far more secure and safer using you phone Mrs Bonce. 👍 If you mislay your rucksack, or get it stolen, you are in a world of hassle!
