TVs don't run on gas. As I have said before, Sky Sports is non negotiable here. I won't watch boxing but am happy with everything else. Handy with the bad weather we have just had. Home now for a while, deciding on our next trip.
Sites without EHU are no good to us either. Not bothered about TV, we even have a 12 volt one we could take, but no EHU means no fridge and no hot water. We could manage over one night, and we have done, but not for any longer.
My wife and I are keen readers so that is what we do when the weather's bad.

Electric costs what it costs. I’m not staying at home just because it’s more expensive on some sites than it was last year.

Yes dogs have to be walked whatever.
We won't be staying at home because of electricity costs alone, as we always go by the bottom line, i.e. total cost including all the extras. However, having high electricity costs could put some sites total cost above our budget so we will have to go elsewhere or reduce the length of our stay. If touring sites get too expensive we may start looking at alternatives, such as renting a static, an apartment, or a cottage. Some sites are even charging more than it would cost to stay in a B&B or Hotel.
A friend of ours, who isn't into caravanning or camping, does coach holidays and some of the ones he has mentioned are comparable in cost to caravanning, especially if you take the cost of our diesel into account. Not the same, but when you are on such a tight budget as we are it could end up being a choice between that or staying at home.

Nor will we, our absolute maximum budget is £25 all in, and we only go up to that if we have a very specific reason for wanting to go there.
Things I'd take into consideration, choosing a cheaper ehu site might mean farther too travel on trips out.

Yep one needs to take into consideration that while you are away, you are saving at home so it is the difference that counts.

Probably not as much as you think. Its heating appliances that use the most, and things like cookers, tumble dryers, etc. Kettles and toasters use a lot, but only for a very short time. TVs and computers don't use hardly anything in comparison. We are currently using an average of around £6.50 a day according to our smart meter, and that is a total of gas and electricity in a 3 bed house with gas cooking and central heating. I would expect to use half that amount in summer when we haven't got the heating on and we dry our washing outdoors. Last year before all the huge price-hikes we were using less than £2 a day in summer, so you can see why we object to being charged £5+ a day just for a small caravan's electricity in the middle of summer.

Crazy, isn't it! Two weeks minimum! We have stayed for 2 weeks sometimes, but by no means every time. We also might want an overnight stop if we are going further than I want to drive in one day, or if we just want to go to an event and stay overnight. Apart from maybe peak school holiday times I can't understand any site restricting length of stay.
To be honest Colin, i dont know where some folk find these sites with outlandish downsides. And if you want to camp somewhere for a particular reason, you usually swallow whatever is involved if its a means to an end. Its part of the holiday cost. Im sure running a caravan on electric is a sight cheaper than a house per day, whatever the ehu costs. Though having to stay 2 weeks somewhere - or longer than i really need, would have me looking elsewhere. Theres usually an alternative just up the road.

That is crazy. The £3.50 per night is only thing that is acceptable! many people over night when travelling a long distance and not many people want to stay 2 weeks on the same site especially there is nothing much to do in the area.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
