Very very frightening here just north of Ellesmere, Shropshire. Has anyone else got or had a storm? We thought it would pass to the south but not so. All ehu unplugged.
Our worst storm was in the Dordogne last September - massively loud thunderclaps (that shook the van), lightning dancing all around and hailstones the size of large golf balls, that added some dints to the roof but otherwise, fortunately caused no damage.
We had a short but torrential storm Sunday pm. Tonight you might have seen Manchester on the TV, not that far away yet we've had nothing this evening apart from a few dark clouds and a flash of lightening.
We watched the sky's get darker and darker around 7pm last night, almost like midnight. however NOT a sprinkle of rain or thunder, nor lightning. In fact Not rained here in north Sheffield of almost five weeks.
Boy do we need some! Rain that is.....
Have a family of foxes nesting somewhere close by us, mamma, pops, and four cubs. Watched them playing on our garden around 11pm last few nights. Last night watched them licking the grass we had had the sprinkler on for an hour or so. So left a large bucket of water for them last night.
magpies galore this am drinking from it.

Rain on Wirral three evenings on the trot now, thank goodness - quite manageable rain too, not torrential downpours. The garden is reviving. Quite a bit of thunder as well! Nothing apocalyptic though. I have (including a small pond and a pebbly bee drinking bowl) eight places wildlife can find water in my garden, most in part shade - so important in a hot spell. watering flowers is important too, so the pollinators can find nectar as well as pollen.

I can only assume your van isnt this years model. (or last, or the year before that...) Our van was written off with hail damage around 2016. So to view dents as 'no damage', they must then be adding to the patina!
Very little rain up here - more's the pity. We really need rain for the garden, otherwise we're having to water the vegetables, polytunnel etc every day. Fortunately water isn't metered and no restrictions on use.
Temp is around 22 deg C with a S.E. wind keeping things a bit cooler.

When I lived in Johannesburg South Africa we sued to have some vicious storms. We had a brand new Mini when we got caught in a hailstones with hail the size of tennis balls. Luckily I found a bus stop so parked in the bus stop to protect the Mini. The field fo maize across the way from us was totally flattened. Numerous brand new Vauxhalls waiting to be delivered were written off due to hail damage. In comparison never seen a bad storm in the UK yet!

No, it's 10 years old, we can't see the dents on the roof apart from the odd occasions we clean it, and then it sort of depends on how the light is hitting it. Just cosmetic damage fortunately, and all adds to the character!
No, high 20s & no clouds at this Central Scotland site for several days. Haven’t had any rain worth talking about in Ayrshire since early May, but Drumnadrochit (Highlands) had 50mm recently. A friend near Milton Keynes posted a photo of a wheelie bin floating down the street a couple of days ago though.

Just got back from a week in Cornwall. No storms or rain down there while we were there, and it's been very warm, bright and sunny since we got back yesterday. Warmer and sunnier in fact than in Cornwall.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
