Following on from the how expensive is Cod post, a mate of mine was telling me this morning that he's taking a Audi Q5 in to work today for a replacement wing mirror glass Not the complete wing mirror just the glass.

The cost £600 for the glass alone from Audi, as it has lane sensors in it, Audi quoted 2 hours to change it, so best part of £1000 for a wing mirror glass, The worlds gone mad

I wouldn't imagine even Audi would get away with charging £200 an hour to change a door mirror.

Doubt they are changing just the glass at that price and time scale, it'll be a complete 'module' of the 'innards', may not include the external casing, 'cos that'd double the cost with the body colour paint matching on top of 'innards'!

Is it justified? Probably not: https://www.wingmirrorman.co.uk/wing-mirror-glass/audi-wing-mirror-glass/audi-q5-w........

Are Audi rip off merchants, ABSOLUTELY, people I've know with Audi's have been stunned by the cost of any repairs! ..... and they seem to be as prone to faults as any other even budget brand!

That's what they were quoted just under £1000 for a wing mirror glass, even the guy in Audi parts department couldn't believe the cost of the glass

One of the key fobs for our Hyundai Santa Fe was playing up.£400 for a new one! I declined. Timpsons locksmiths said they can do them for most cars including programming for much less.
I used my avionics tech skills from my RAF training and repaired it!
New battery and very careful reshaping of the contacts.

Crikey, my 05 Nissan Cube cost £225 to buy, there's no parts available for it over here mind so I suppose it's a disposable motor, something breaks, bodge or get another car.
