We have landed at Axminster after a trying journey. The very orange full moon is rising, so a look at the local tide times tomorrow to see whether OH can gather some dulse (Google it) at low tide.
Fabulous mild largely sunny weather up here in Dumfriesshire. The moon has looked like something out of a Dracula film for the last few nights, with wisps of clouds causing a golden halo. Add dark skies with stars & planets: awesome.
Waiting for the next full moon in September as it means there will be moon cakes about in oriental food shops to celebrate Mid Autumn Festival, and I shall get some when I am in London in mid September.

I saw it too on 30th. Big and bright when I went to bed around 11pm. Had to get up in the night about 3am and I looked out of the window when I came back to bed and it was lighting up the garden. I could see right down to the back fence, and there were shadows created by the shed and our bird table.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
