It needs a computer to really mess things up.
Yesterday I booked some flights with British Airways. Strangely enough, they were the cheapest. I decided to hold the flights until I looked at hotels and then returned to confirm them.
This was OK until I went to pay. The flights were shown as Heathrow to Heathrow (apparently a 6 hour flight and I would have to change airport to catch the connection). The price was also shown for one leg of the journey and was totally wrong.
I ended up phoning them and the agent was very helpful. No explanation, but they took my payment and issued the tickets. It seems that I'm not the only one who has had these problems.
I would have preferred KLM, but they were a lot more expensive.

I don't like BA, and would only fly with them if I have no alternative.
Happy to pay a bit more to avoid flying with BA. Apart from their "technical" issues, their ground and air crews were grumpy as hell based on my own experience.
Last time I flew with them, I paid for an aisle seat on the wings, making sure it was not near the emergency exists; to find they changed the plane at the last minute, and I ended up on an emergency exit row.
When I asked what happened, they just shrugged their shoulders as if to say, what did you expect me to do?!

My understanding is that BA cabin crew are trained on the type of plane they generally fly. This is safeguarding issue so they understand everything in an emergency. So its likely that the crew on one type of plane is different if the plane changes and therefore the crew are unlikely to fully appreciate on a different design/model of plane. Next time you fly with BA take a box of chocolates with you as you board, you might get a free upgrade

I shall avoid BA at all cost!
I won't even consider code-sharing - if I see a non-BA flight being "operated by British Airway" I will not consider it.

In the good old days (pre-covid) I had a choice of flights from my local airport (Aberdeen). I had Lufthansa for flights to Frankfurt, KLM to Amsterdam, Flybe, Easyjet and Loganair for domestic flights.
If I want to travel outside the UK, it's either through Heathrow with BA, or Amsterdam with KLM. Although I would prefer KLM, it is virtually twice the BA price. In this day and age, saving £400 on my next holiday to Lisbon, buys a lot of nice meals!

Nothing wrong with BA as long as you fly first or business class.
Never head to the back of the bus.

Always fly at the back of the plane, you never hear of them reversing into mountains.
I looked at Jet2, but they don't fly from Aberdeen. They also don't fly to many places I want to go or at convenient date/times. OK, the prices look good, but when I add the cost and inconvenience of getting to an airport, it's not worth it.
I'm just back from Lisbon. Lisbon was fine, but the travelling was hell. Can't blame BA, but the airport management was a joke.
